The cast of Girl on Girl Action thanks
Milwaukee for their amazing support of the show during its premiere
performances on August 2 and 3, 2002! Both performances played to
crowds of well over 100 people. Girl on Girl Action writer and
director Sarah Terez Rosenblum was absolutely thrilled to hear
audience feedback about the performances. She especially valued the
words of two women who had met over the internet (as do two of the
characters in Sarah’s play.) They called the show a “slice of
life.” Sarah is also grateful to LAMM (Lesbian Alliance of Metro
Milwaukee) for their support and feedback.
Girl on Girl Action was a Shepherd
Express “Critic’s Choice” for the week of August 1st. They
said:
"When local playwright Sarah Terez
Rosenblum wrote Girl on Girl Action, a play that explores
the complex and sometimes contradictory issues of being both a
feminist and a lesbian, theories she grappled with as a women's
studies major were still fresh in her mind. But not fresh enough for
her tastes-she wanted an exploration of woman's studies topics served
up in an entertaining, approachable format. So she made sure to
include punchy, funny, provocative material. Expect an examination of
such themes as desire vs. objectification and feminist art, but fear
no stuffiness here: Rosenblum skewers her topics when need be, and
celebrates them when possible."
We’ll post more reviews as they appear.
